Vistra’s safety training philosophy is to invest in and provide development and learning opportunities for our greatest asset, our people.  We believe that employee learning and development is the foundation of our company’s safety management system and instrumental in obtaining Best Defenses. Everyone wins. No one gets hurt.

The goal of safety training is to enhance the employee’s knowledge and skillset, hazard awareness, and maintaining compliance with the applicable regulatory standards.

We believe safety training is most effective when it is incorporated into standard operating procedures, workplace practices, and individual job performance requirements.

We structure employee development and learning so that our employees have the knowledge and skills needed to do their work safely, avoid creating hazards that could place themselves or others at risk, and ensure that each employee knows how to put up best defenses for job assignments.

We strive to ensure that our safety training content is relevant, creative, and a contributing factor that aides in the continuous improvement of the overall safety management system.

The organization will always have the necessary tools and assets in place to manage employee safety training and development. Examples include but are not limited to Learning Management Systems, Content Developers, Trainers, and Learning Coordinators.

Corporate compliance adherence with safety training will be measured by determining or verifying:

  • The effectiveness of employee development and learning, as measured by the participant’s ability to demonstrate the desired skills and efficiently perform their job duties.
  • Training matrices incorporating regulatory requirements.
  • Training reports from the Learning Management System.
